Pharmacological Actions
1. As a kind of broad spectrum anticonvulsant drug which can resist most bacteria, the peperine or black pepper extract has good resistance in the experimental electrofit of mouse.
2. It has resistance to convulsive attack and auditory seizure caused by pentrolone, picrotoxin, strychninea and the infection of tubocurarine and glutamic acid into ventricle.
3. It has an effect on certain types of epilepsy.
4. The black pepper extract has a stronger effect on flies than pyrethrum.
5. With its function in clearing heat, it is also anti- inflammatory, anti-depression and anti-tumor.
